The human mind operates by habits, shortcuts, simplifications. Our senses are limited. We are guided by biases. We reduce the world to ease our functioning in it. We put one foot in front of the other and we get by.

But the deepest natures of reality, as revealed by science, can be utterly strange and unintuitive. Much of the universe operates in ways far outside of our common sense. The familiar transforms into something quite unfamiliar. In this process, there is room for artistic exploration.
