WHY PUERTO RICO?
R A W T A L E N T
Many lives have been shattered by the havoc of Hurricane Maria, the negative politics and the most recent 500 (January 2020) earthquakes. When you combine these devastating disasters with the highest poverty rate of all the US States and Territories, it becomes abundantly clear that their talented youth may need a an ‘Arm and Leg’ up!
NRD’s Supporter’s generous tax deductible donations have already enabled/inspired 285 inner city talented youth dancers to be a part of the annual Palm Springs International Dance Festival! NRD believes that dance is a Sport, an Art and a pathway for healing/therapy by expressing ones self through movement.
“To express something with your body, not vocally, is an experience that evokes many layers deeply hidden and provides a healthy release.”
Michael Nickerson-Rossi,
Artistic Director, NRD
THE GOAL!
Michael Nickerson-Rossi (the creator of The Palm Springs International Dance Festival) has one goal; to artistically enrich the lives of every human being through dance. Michael has reached out to Puerto Rico’s emerging talent with the help of Blanca Huertas-Agnew (native Puerto Rican and of The Pennsylvania Ballet) to raise awareness of Puerto Rico’s incredible emerging talent and WE NEED YOU to help us turn their dreams into a reality!
