We invite college students to be part of Nickerson-Rossi’s “Launch” dance education series during the International Dance Festival. In the college division, young adults will train with active professional Choreographers, Artistic Directors, and Producers in a 4.5 hour workshop at Nickerson-Rossi’s Dance House. Experience what it’s like to work as a professional dance artist in the concert dance field. Dance classes during this workshop can include ballet, modern, and contemporary! This isn’t just an opportunity to expand on your artistry or technical training, but should also be used as a resource to promote yourself in the professional world of dance.

Nickerson-Rossi brings together the world of academia and professional concert dance in “Launch!” Nickerson-Rossi has invited college directors to set dance works on the professional Nickerson-Rossi Dance Company while he sets dance works on their college students! In this twist of roles, Michael aims to highlight the caliber of these college directors, provide high school students with resources for higher education, and celebrate the professional dancers of tomorrow - college dance artists!

Artistic Director of Nickerson-Rossi Dance, Michael Nickerson-Rossi, is passionate about his therapeutic outreach work. In this evening of concert dance, Michael shares his work with the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center in collaboration with the professional dancers of Nickerson-Rossi Dance and members of the Cancer Support Group. In a three part series of dance works, Michael shares the stories of cancer survivors through the medium of dance. Trauma, triumph, loss, and true love… be reminded why we fight to live and why sharing love is most valuable.

Schools enrolled in this performance will be presenting all different genres of dance from modern, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, and more!
